This document reviews the state of the art for data scaling issues associated with air induction system development for turbine-engine-powered aircraft. In particular, the document addresses issues with obtaining high quality aerodynamic data when testing inlets. These data are used in performance and inlet-engine compatibility analyses. Examples of such data are: inlet recovery, inlet turbulence, and steady-state and dynamic total-pressure inlet distortion indices. Achieving full-scale inlet/engine compatibility requires a deep understanding of three areas: 1) geometric scaling fidelity (referred to here as just “scaling”), 2) impact of Reynolds number, and 3) ground and flight-test techniques (including relevant environment simulation, data acquisition, and data reduction practices).

This procedure should be used to determine the average sound pressure level that a snowmobile would generate during typical trail operation. It consist of averaging a steady vehicle speed SPL with a wide open throttle acceleration SPL together. A weighting is performed on both SPL prior to averaging. The weighting is based on a study on the vehicle speed, engine speed and engine load observed during typical trail use of a snowmobile.

With many corporations and suppliers conducting development and validation tests at different Climatic Wind Tunnel sites, there is an increasing need for a recommended best practice that defines a process by which climatic wind tunnels can be correlated. This document addresses the test methods and metrics used to obtain similar results, independent of location, for Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Powertrain Cooling (PTC) development. This document should be used as a guideline to make sure key aspects of tunnel testing are covered when comparing various climatic wind tunnel facilities. The depth of the correlation program is ultimately influenced by program objectives. Therefore a correlation program, for the intent and purposes of this document, can range from just a few tests to a full analysis that involves multiple vehicle tests identifying limitations and statistical boundaries.

The special risks associated with conducting crash tests on E-Vehicles can be divided into two main categories; 1) thermal activity inside the battery (resulting from electrical or mechanical abuse) may lead to energetic emission of harmful and/or flammable gases, thermal runaway, and potentially fire, and 2) the risk of electrocution. Procedures to ensure protection from all types of risk must be integrated into the entire crash test process. This informational report is intended to provide guidance in this endeavor using current best practices at the time of this publication. As both battery technology and battery management system technology is in a phase of expansion, the contents of this report must then be gaged against current technology of the time, and updated periodically to retain its applicability and usefulness.

Effective August 28, 1991, the SAE replaced the USCG as the listing agency for Marine Hose Assemblies. The previous USCG list was discontinued as of December 31, 1992, and is being replaced by this SAE listing, J1942-1. All products appearing on the USCG list as of December 31, 1992, may be carried over to the SAE J1942-1 provided they meet the new test requirements listed in SAE J1942. If your products comply, you may retain your listings with no additional testing. (Please note that the USCG has the authority to request and inspect your test results at their discretion). The following list consists of hose data provided as of December 2015, and is for convenience in determining acceptability of nonmetallic flexible hose assemblies intended for usage under 46 CFR 56.60-25. Where the maximum allowable working pressure (MAWP) or type of fitting is not specified, use the manufacturer's recommended MAWP or type of fitting.
