ARP6912
This Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) identifies and defines methods of compliance to power available and inlet distortion requirements for rotorcraft with Inlet Barrier Filter (IBF) installations. The advisory material developed therein may be used as acceptable methods of compliance for determining power assurance, establishing power available, and for substantiating acceptable engine inlet distortion for IBF installations. It is agreed to treat dust, ice, salt water & snow as contaminants to IBF for the purpose of establishing power available and distortion. Flight in known icing will be addressed in ARP6901.

xEVs involved in incidents present unique hazards associated with the high voltage system (including the battery system). These hazards can be grouped into 3 categories: chemical, electrical, and thermal. The potential consequences can vary depending on the size, configuration and specific battery chemistry. Other incidents may arise from secondary events such as garage fires and floods. These types of incidents are also considered in the recommended practice (RP). This RP aims to describe the potential consequences associated with hazards from xEVs and suggest common procedures to help protect emergency responders, tow and/or recovery, storage, repair, and salvage personnel after an incident has occurred with an electrified vehicle. Industry design standards and tools were studied and where appropriate, suggested for responsible organizations to implement.

J517
This SAE Standard provides general, dimensional and performance specifications for the most common hoses used in hydraulic systems on mobile and stationary equipment. The general specifications contained in Sections 1 through 12 are applicable to all hydraulic hoses and supplement the detailed specifications for the 100R-series hoses contained in the later sections of this document. (See Tables 1A and 1B). This document shall be utilized as a procurement document only to the extent as agreed upon by the manufacturer and user. The maximum working pressure of a hose assembly comprising SAE J517 hose and hose connectors per SAE J516, SAE J518, SAE J1453, etc., shall not exceed the lower of the respective SAE maximum working pressure values. When using SAE J517 hose for marine applications, see SAE J1475, SAE J1942 and SAE J1942-1. The SAE J517 100R9, 100R10 and 100R11 hoses are discontinued due to lack of demand. For DOD orders see Appendix C.

J1942
SAE J1942, developed through the cooperative efforts of the U.S. Coast Guard and SAE, became effective August 28, 1991, as the official document for nonmetallic flexible hose assemblies for commercial marine use. This SAE Standard covers specific requirements for several styles of hose and/or hose assemblies in systems on board commercial vessels inspected and certificated by the U.S. Coast Guard. It is intended that this document establish hose constructions and performance levels that are essential to safe operations in the marine environment. Refer to SAE J1273 for selection, installation, and maintenance of hose and hose assemblies. Refer to SAE J1527 Marine Fuel Hose for hose to convey gasoline or diesel fuel aboard small craft, including pleasure craft and related small commercial craft regulated directly or by reference under 33 CFR 183 Subpart J, and boats and yachts meeting American Boat and Yacht Council standards.

The SAE Guide to APU health management establishes the foundation for developing a successful APU health management program at any aircraft or APU operator, such as an airline, an OEM, an equipment supplier, or a military transport unit. This guide identifies the best practices for using an APU health management program to improve dispatch reliability and to satisfy Extended Operations (ETOPS) availability requirements.

This recommended practice will specify a standard duty cycle and set of conditions for component-level durability testing. The "duty cycle" refers to a set of loading conditions (e.g. torque or pressure and cycling count), and the 'test conditions" refers to environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and part conditioning from prior exposure (e.g. heat aging).

ARP6950
This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) provides guidance and interpretation on how to apply the objectives and activities in ARP4754A, “Guidelines for Development of Civil Aircraft and Systems”, to propulsion systems with electronic engine control. As the ARP4754A was developed and written more generally at the aircraft level, guidance will be provided to allocate ARP4754A objectives and activities to each side of the aircraft/engine interface. Using this guidance, certification applicants (aircraft and engine manufacturers) will be able to make proposals to coordinate their activities with their respective authority based on this allocation with the objective of distributing efficiently the compliance demonstration efforts between engine and aircraft certification and of avoiding unnecessary duplication of work.

This SAE Standard gives methods for testing and evaluating performance of the SAE 100R series of hydraulic hose and hose assemblies (hose and attached end fittings) used in hydraulic fluid power systems. Specific tests and performance criteria for evaluating hose assemblies used in hydraulic service are in accordance with the requirements for hose in the respective specifications of SAE J517. This document further establishes a uniform means of testing and evaluating performance of hydraulic hose assemblies.

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is a practical automotive fuel, with advantages and disadvantages when compared to gasoline. Large quantities of natural gas are available in North America. It has a higher octane number rating, produces low exhaust emissions, no evaporative emissions and can cost less on an equivalent energy basis than other fuels. Natural gas is normally compressed from 20 684 to 24 821 kPa (3000 to 3600 psig) to increase its energy density thereby reducing its on-board vehicle storage volume for a given range and payload. CNG can also be made from liquefied natural gas by elevating its pressure and vaporizing it to a gas. Once converted it is referred to LCNG.
