The Loran-C Radionavigation System, managed by the U.S. Coast Guard, is the federally provided radionavigation system for civil marine use in the U.S. coastal waters. It is also designated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as a supplementary system in the National Airspace System (NAS). This system provides accurate radionavigation and timing services to users in the United States of America and Canada. Loran-C is also being used and developed by several other countries in Europe and Asia. Estimates of Loran-C system accuracy must take into consideration the transmitted signal, signal propagation, signal reception, interference or errors from outside sources such as natural and man-made electromagnetic noise, skywave contamination, geometric dilution of precision, other Loran-C signals, communication information superimposed on the navigation signal, and coordinate conversion.

SAE J1939-73 Diagnostics Application Layer defines the SAE J1939 messages to accomplish diagnostic services and identifies the diagnostic connector to be used for the vehicle service tool interface. Diagnostic messages (DMs) provide the utility needed when the vehicle is being repaired. Diagnostic messages are also used during vehicle operation by the networked electronic control modules to allow them to report diagnostic information and self-compensate as appropriate, based on information received. Diagnostic messages include services such as periodically broadcasting active diagnostic trouble codes, identifying operator diagnostic lamp status, reading or clearing diagnostic trouble codes, reading or writing control module memory, providing a security function, stopping/starting message broadcasts, reporting diagnostic readiness, monitoring engine parametric data, etc.

This specification describes a method and acceptance criteria for testing automotive wire harness retainer clips. Retainer clips are plastic parts that hold a wire harness or electrical connector in a specific position. Typical plastic retainers work by having a set of "branches" that can be inserted into a hole sized to be easy to install but provide acceptable retention. This specification tests retainer clips for mechanical retention when exposed to the mechanical and environmental stresses typically found in automotive applications over a 15-year service life. This specification has several test options to allow the test to match to the expected service conditions. The variability of applications typically arises a) from different ambient temperatures near the clip, different proximity to automotive fluids, different exposure to standing water or water spray and different thicknesses of the holes that the clip is inserted into.

This SAE Recommended Practice shall cover mechanical- readjust stroke indicators for actuators with visible exposed pushrods and electrical-readjust stroke indicators for all air-brake actuators. This device shall indicate the foundation brake(s) may require adjustment or service when inspected per vehicle manufacturer's procedures. A measurement shall be made to determine actual stroke measurement for any system not factory calibrated. Stroke indication accuracy of an air-brake actuator can be assured only when all of its components are supplied by the original brake actuator manufacturer.

EIASTD4899C
This document applies to the development of Plans for integrating and managing electronic components in equipment for the military and commercial aerospace markets; as well as other ADHP markets that wish to use this document. Examples of electronic components, as described in this document, include resistors, capacitors, diodes, integrated circuits, hybrids, application specific integrated circuits, wound components, and relays. It is critical for the Plan owner to review and understand the design, materials, configuration control, and qualification methods of all “as-received” electronic components, and their capabilities with respect to the application; identify risks, and where necessary, take additional action to mitigate the risks. The technical requirements are in Clause 3 of this standard, and the administrative requirements are in Clause 4.

This document establishes standard graphical symbols and color conventions for use in either still (static) or animated graphics used for communicating service information. This document’s purpose is to communicate conventions for using those symbols and colors to accurately and consistently communicate intended information via graphics-based documentation. These practices are intended for use in service procedures, assembly instructions, training materials, and similar applications when trying to minimize the amount of human natural language text used within the document. The still and animated graphical conventions referenced should support effective communication via paper and “traditional” electronic media. The conventions can also extend to documenting via additional electronic delivery paradigms such as Augmented Reality (AR).

This document covers the tests to be performed on all SAE J2602-1 defined Master and Slave nodes. Tests described in this document will ensure a minimum standard level of performance to which all compatible Electronic Control Unit (ECUs) and media shall be designed. This will assure full serial data communication among all connected devices regardless of supplier. The goal of SAE J2602-2 is to improve the interoperability and interchangeability of LIN devices within a network by verifying the devices pass a minimum set of tests. To allow for easy cross-reference, this document is arranged such that the conformance test for a given section in SAE J2602-1 is in the same section in SAE J2602-2. This document is to be referenced by the particular vehicle Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) component technical specification that describes any given ECU in which the LIN data link controller and physical layer interface is located.
